The Fine Print
- Credit. Credit will be extended to those who currently have an approved credit application on file. All others must pay COD. If you wish to establish a credit account, please download a credit application or contact us for a copy. Please allow up to a couple weeks for a credit account to be established. Credit accounts are due 30 days from the invoice date. All past due accounts shall bear interest at the rate of 1.5% per month (18% annually) but not less than $3 per month. Ninety days after an invoice is due, we will begin collection procedures with a third party collection agency.
- Minimum Order. It is not possible for us to dig orders of less than $500. Please do not request an exception.
- Conditions of Order. Please allow 5–7 days for material to be dug. An order cannot be cancelled after it is dug. Material must be picked up within five working days after notification that it is ready.
- Spring Orders. For spring orders placed before December 1 of the previous year, we will acknowledge the order upon receipt. Fall orders receive priority over spring orders. After the fall growing and digging seasons are complete, we mail a confirmation on or about December 1. A signed copy acknowledging receipt and confirming the order needs to be received by Waverly Farm no later than December 15. In order to best prepare ourselves for spring shipping, we begin tagging and digging spring orders in the fall. Cancellations/reductions in spring orders cannot be accepted after December 15. Even minor reductions create unnecessary work/confusion. No exceptions. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated.
- All prices are FOB, Waverly Farm, Adamstown, MD.
- Unit Prices. We allow increasingly favorable prices for the purchase of more of the same grade and size of a plant. We may be able to combine different grades of the same plant to yield the best price advantage when a minimum of five plants in each cultivar is purchased. We will confirm orders with the best price advantage but reserve the right to invoice for the actual number of pieces delivered. Prices are posted at the 25 rate even if 25 plants are not available. The 25 rate will be applied to orders greater than $10,000 for all items ordered. When less than five each of one cultivar is ordered, we will add 15% to the unit price.
-
Discount Schedule.
Invoices exceeding $5,000 earn the lowest unit cost for all plants when five or more of all plants are ordered. By this we mean you will be invoiced at the 25 rate if listed or the 10 rate for all plants ordered when purchasing at least five plants of each cultivar ordered and the invoice equals $5,000 or more. A single order exceeding $5,000 will be eligible for the following discount schedule:
- 5% @ $5,000
- 10% @ $10,000
- 16% @ $20,000
- 20% @ $40,000
- 24% @ $60,000
- 30% @ $100,000
- Sales Tax. We are required to collect sales tax unless presented with a Maryland Plant Broker’s Resale Certificate for material that is picked up or delivered in the State of Maryland. We will not collect sales tax for deliveries made to out-of-state destinations. We will not accept just your Plant Broker’s number; we must have a copy of the certificate on file to delete sales tax.
- Inspection Certificate. Upon request we will gladly furnish a copy of our Maryland State Inspection Certificate.
- Delivery. Should you be unable to pick up your order, we can arrange for delivery on orders of $2500 or more. All freight costs must be paid COD to the delivering freight company.
- Delays & Availability. We cannot be responsible for delays in digging due to weather conditions beyond our control. Crop failure or damage may preclude us from being able to fulfill an order placed in advance and we cannot be responsible for such a condition. We will make every effort to keep you informed regarding availability.
- Future Order Guarantee. Future orders may be guaranteed with a deposit of 30%. When a future order is confirmed, we must receive the deposit within 15 days of your receipt of the confirmation. Guaranteed orders are subject to change due to inventory miscounts or damage due to digging or weather.
- Summer Digging. We are able to dig many plants during the growing season. This requires substantial extra preparation and after harvest care, and therefore a 15% surcharge will be added to the invoice for plants dug between April 1 and September 30.
