(V. carlesii x V. bitchiuense)
Zone 4–8. Full and rounded habit to 6–8' H with equal spread; highly fragrant semi-snowball; flowers pink to red in bud opening white as a hemispherical cyme 2–3" across; dark green foliage turns reddish to wine-red in fall; Dirr thinks ‘Juddii’ will over time replace its V. carlesii parent as the preferred fragrant semi-snowball viburnum. This is a very handsome plant mostly due to its dark green, shiny season long foliage as compared to the other V. carlesii deriviatives that can become dry looking and tattered; huge draw back from a growers point of view is its very slow growth rate, about 30% of V. Mohawk, for example. This may cause Dirr’s forecast to fail.
